Founded by Canan Kozmetik in 1981, İpek was created to bring quality hair care to a wider audience. With the launch of İpek Shampoo in 1993, the brand quickly became a household name in Türkiye thanks to its effective formulas, approachable identity, and accessible quality. Over the years, İpek expanded across categories, strengthened its manufacturing and quality capabilities, and later sharpened its focus on shampoo and conditioner. Today, under Dilek Group, İpek continues its journey with renewed formulas, modern packaging, and a vision shaped by both heritage and innovation. 


A LOCAL VISION

The story of İPEK began in the 1980s with the establishment of Canan Kozmetik. In Türkiye’s rapidly growing cosmetics industry, the company set out with the goal of offering a local alternative in the hair care market, which had until then been limited to imported products. Launched in 1993, İPEK Shampoo quickly earned consumers’ trust with its innovative formulas, effective results, and sincere brand identity. 


 

A FAMILIAR SHAMPOO SCENT

The 1990s were years of growth, renewal, and diversification for İPEK. The brand evolved beyond being just a shampoo and expanded into a wide product range including conditioner, baby shampoo, soap, shower gel, body cream, hand lotion, and wet wipes. With products addressing different needs, İPEK gained the trust of millions of households. 



A LEADING NAME IN CONDITIONER

A brand that entered every home through its product variety and stood out from competitors through its quality, İPEK continued its success into the 2000s. With its rich formula containing Pure Silk Extract and Provitamin B5, İPEK Conditioner was highly appreciated and quickly became one of Türkiye’s most preferred conditioners. 



GLOBAL STANDARDS

The year 2007 marked an important milestone in the brand’s history. Canan Kozmetik joined the international cosmetics giant L’Oréal, reaching global manufacturing standards. During this period, it also played a role in the production of world-renowned brands such as Elseve. Through this partnership, İPEK elevated its production technology, quality control processes, and formula strength to a new level.

With a strategic decision made in 2012, the product portfolio was streamlined. Returning to its core, the İPEK brand chose to specialize solely in the shampoo and conditioner categories. The goal was to reinforce its position in consumers’ minds as one of the leading hair care brands. 


A 100% LOCAL IDENTITY, A NEW ERA

The year 2024 represents a new chapter for İPEK. By joining Dilek Group, the brand regained its 100% local identity. This transition is not merely a change in ownership; it is also a renewed expression of the brand’s commitment to its roots, its values, and Turkish consumers.

Today, with renewed formulas, modern packaging design, and a sustainable production approach, İPEK continues to grow both in Türkiye and in many countries around the world. While preserving the legacy of its past, the brand embraces an innovative vision that responds to the expectations of the future.
